My first impression; Heck no was my answer when I hired yoga instructors for Real Fitness, but they insisted I try a class. After I attend a class I have been grateful for it ever since. I learned breathing exercises to both increase lung capacity and also act as a natural tranquilizer, something I needed running a 19 hour a day business. I learned to appreciate the thoroughness of working through joints and muscles, of being patient and moving slowly and deliberately, getting deep, quality stretches and learning balancing poses to increase concentration. I soon realized it was the most rejuvenating thing I had ever been exposed to. Now ask me and I'll tell you: "yoga is an excellent method of getting fit and staying fit, and incredible for stress management." – Coach Bob
Yoga is a powerful method of keeping your body, joints and mind healthy. Started over 5,000 years ago, it utilizes mental focus and deep breathing while performing a series of physical movements. Though many come to yoga for the great physical "workout", it's the incredible flexibility as well as the mental benefit of the practice that keeps many coming back. Real Fitness' competitive pricing makes this a great bargain for a healthy lifestyle.
Your first class at Real Fitness is free when you have a VIP pass! New students should arrive at least 15 minutes before class to fill out a New Student Form and discuss any health or injury concerns with the instructor. You are not required to register or sign up for any amount of "sessions" — just pay as you go or purchase our discounted multi-class passes.
Wear lightweight, layered, comfortable clothing that does not restrict movement. You will build a bit of sweat so bring a towel and bottle of water! Real Fitness can provide everything else that you will need from mats to blocks and straps. You'll even find blankets in our yoga studio. The studio is heated to a comfortable temperature that is warm enough to help you open and safely stretch the body. We do recommend that you have your own mat, but provide beginners with everything they will need to enjoy the experience. Yoga is practiced in bare feet so entry to the studio should not include your shoes.
It is recommended in the beginning of your practice to attend two or three classes a week. As you build strength and flexibility, you can build up to practicing four or more days a week. You are welcome to try all the different yoga classes and one discounted pass can be used for any of the classes.
At Real Fitness we offer classes for all ages and levels. With a wide variety of yoga styles, teachers, and class times, you're sure to find a yoga class to fit your schedule. Child care is available during morning and evening classes. We look forward to serving you!
